Just came across a
interesting article titled "Red Dead Online Could Find New Life By Following Elden Ring’s Lead" By Nick Rodriguez and it makes some points that are hard to ignore.
The writer basically argues that while Red Dead Online has been left in the dust compared to GTA Online, it still has massive untapped potential. Not through more PvP modes or cosmetic drops, but by focusing on cooperative gameplay, world-building, and modular missions similar to what Elden Ring: Nightreign is doing.
The comparison might sound odd at first, but the more you read, the more it makes sense. Red Dead already has the immersive world, the vibe, the player base what it’s missing is structure and purpose. Something bigger to pull players in and actually keep them there.
I’m curious what you all think:
Do you agree Red Dead Online could thrive with a shift toward more co-op and story-driven content? Should Rockstar give it another shot, or has that train already left the station?
